New England Commission of Higher Education

American International College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (formerly the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.). Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education

The professional entry-level master’s and combined baccalaureate/master’s program within the Division of Occupational Therapy at American International College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-6611 and its Web address is www.acoteonline.org. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.

Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy

Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR) require that the Board of Registration in Nursing review annually, each nursing program in the Commonwealth for compliance with the Board’s Regulations.

The Division of Nursing has received Full Approval Status annually from the Board of Registration in Nursing since 1982.

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master’s degree program in nursing, and the post-graduate APRN certificate program at American International College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

The post-graduate APRN certificate program at American International College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). The accreditation decision was made by the CCNE Board of Commissioners during its April 25-28, 2023 meeting, and the effective date of accreditation is October 5, 2022.

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

AlC has state authorization as a Sponsoring Organization of educator preparation programs to endorse candidates for licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The College is authorized to endorse candidates for licensure through August 31, 2023. Consistent with requirements for all educator preparation providers operational in Massachusetts, AIC is currently engaged with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), around ongoing improvement efforts with the current status of probationary approval with a low performing designation. The College is steadfast in its commitment to working with DESE and preparing the next generation of educators.

International Accreditation Council for Business Education

The School of Business, Arts, and Sciences and the School of Graduate and Adult Education at American International College has received specialized accreditation for its business program(s) through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11960 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kansas, USA. Atlantic Hockey

Atlantic Hockey is a Division I Men’s Ice Hockey conference currently in it’s 15th year. Members reside in Colorado (Air Force), Connecticut (Sacred Heart), Massachusetts (American International, Bentley, Holy Cross), New York (Army, Canisius, Niagara, RIT), and Pennsylvania (Mercyhurst, Robert Morris).

National Intercollegiate Rugby Association

The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) is comprised of 17 member institutions. Each of these institutions sponsor NCAA rugby at their respective divisional levels and are committed to the expansion of women’s rugby at the highest level with eventual full sponsorship by the NCAA. 

NCAA Division II

Division II is a collection of more than 300 NCAA colleges and universities that provide thousands of student-athletes the opportunity to compete at a high level of scholarship athletics while excelling in the classroom and fully engaging in the broader campus experience.

Northeast 10 Conference

Established in 1979, The Northeast-10 Conference is an NCAA Division II conference. The conference consists of 15 member institutions located throughout the Northeast. With the addition of women’s golf in 2014-15, the NE10 now sponsors a total of 24 sports.

AIC is proud to partner with College Steps, a non-profit organization that offers an enhanced level of individualized college support for students with social, communication or learning challenges.

Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield (CCGS)

Members of the CCGS, American International College, Bay Path College, Elms College, Holyoke Community College, Springfield College, Springfield Technical Community College, Western New England University, and Westfield State University, share academic coursework, allowing students from one college to take classes at another. All colleges share library resources, jointly promote cultural events, concerts, and sporting events available to all CCGS institution students and Pioneer Valley community members.

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU)

HACU’s mission is to improve access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students. HACU is the only national educational association that represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).
